Sale 6th November 2011
Saracens were 23-10 winners against Sale Sharks at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
The result gave Saracens their seventh successive victory in the Aviva Premiership and it came thanks to tries from David Strettle and Matt Stevens along with 13 points from the boot of Owen Farrell.
Saracens led 10-0 at the interval after Strettle cut a great line to open the scoring – a try that was converted by Farrell who added a further three points minutes later.
After the break, Farrell struck another two penalties before the Saracens forwards took a lineout deep in the Sale 22 and drove over the line with Stevens getting the final touchdown.
Farrell’s conversion gave Saracens a 23-0 lead, but tries from Mark Easter and Rob Miller got the visitors on the scoreboard before the final whistle.
Saracens line-up: Goode (Short 50), Strettle, Farrell (Powell 60), Barritt, Wyles, Hodgson, De Kock (Spencer 60), Carstens (Gill 50), Brits (George 60), Nieto (Stevens 50), Borthwick, Botha (Smith 50), Brown, Burger, Joubert (Saull 70)
